Dr. Julienne Inez King | Rest to Be Restored

Psychology, Faith, Experience & Lived Wisdom

With a PhD in General Psychology and more than two decades of experience in education, leadership, mentoring, human development, and psychology, Dr. King brings a unique combination of psychological knowledge, professional experience, faith, and lived wisdom to her coaching practice.

She currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Houston Christian University and has taught courses in human development, abnormal psychology, research methods, statistics, and introductory psychology. Her professional experience also includes instructional coaching, educational leadership, curriculum development, and mentoring.

Her passion for coaching, however, was shaped by more than her professional credentials.

Over the years, Dr. King has mentored countless single mothers navigating the realities of motherhood, responsibility, relationships, personal growth, education, career, and life transitions.

She understands what it means for women to continually pour into everyone else while quietly becoming depleted themselves. Her work is grounded in the belief that women should not have to remain in survival mode simply because they have learned how to survive.

Dr. King is also the author of Memoirs of a Single Mom and 25 Faith Statements for the Single Mom, reflecting her longstanding commitment to encouraging and empowering women navigating the complexities of single motherhood.

Rest to Be Restored

A Different Understanding of Rest

Dr. King's coaching philosophy is rooted in her signature framework, Rest to Be Restored™, inspired by Hebrews 4:11: “Let us therefore make every effort to enter that rest.”

For Dr. King, rest is not simply taking a break, escaping responsibility, or practicing self care. Rest is an intentional act of faith, obedience, and trust.

She believes that when women learn to rest, they create space to be restored emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and purposefully.

Her Central Message

Rest isn't the destination.
Restoration is.

01

REST

Stop striving.

Women learn to recognize exhaustion, stress, unhealthy patterns, and the pressure to constantly perform. They begin creating space for boundaries, Sabbath, stillness, and intentional rest.

02

RENEW

Change the way you think.

Women examine the beliefs, identities, expectations, and thought patterns that have shaped how they see themselves and their lives. Renewal creates space for confidence, resilience, and a healthier understanding of identity.

03

RESTORE

Rebuild what has been depleted.

Restoration addresses the deeper places that need attention, including purpose, relationships, emotional well being, transitions, and parts of life that may have been neglected while simply trying to survive.

04

RISE

Live from a restored place.

The goal is not to return to the woman you were before the difficult season. It is to move forward as a woman who has been restored, with greater clarity, courage, purpose, and intentionality.

Her Coaching Approach

The RESTORE Method™

Dr. King's coaching approach is grounded in the belief that you should not have to strive your way into the life God has called you to live.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is stop, rest, listen, receive, and allow yourself to be restored.

R

Receive God's invitation to rest.

E

Release burdens and expectations that no longer belong to you.

S

See and recognize the patterns and barriers keeping you stuck.

T

Trust faith over striving and release the pressure to control every outcome.

O

Own your next steps through intentional and meaningful action.

R

Restore the mind, body, spirit, identity, and areas of life that have been depleted.

E

Engage your purpose from a place of greater wholeness, clarity, and restoration.

Who She Serves

Creating Space for Women in Seasons of Change

Dr. King creates a compassionate and intentional coaching environment where women can pause, reflect, identify what is keeping them stuck, establish meaningful goals, and develop practical steps toward the life they desire.

Her work is particularly meaningful for women navigating seasons of transition and the realization that the life they have been building may no longer reflect the woman they are becoming.

A Question Worth Considering

What could become possible if you stopped striving long enough to be restored?

REST. RENEW. RESTORE. RISE.

Because you were not created merely to survive. You were created to be restored and to rise from that place of restoration into purpose.
