Psychology, Faith, Experience & Lived Wisdom
With a PhD in General Psychology and more than two decades of experience in education, leadership, mentoring, human development, and psychology, Dr. King brings a unique combination of psychological knowledge, professional experience, faith, and lived wisdom to her coaching practice.
She currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Houston Christian University and has taught courses in human development, abnormal psychology, research methods, statistics, and introductory psychology. Her professional experience also includes instructional coaching, educational leadership, curriculum development, and mentoring.
Her passion for coaching, however, was shaped by more than her professional credentials.
Over the years, Dr. King has mentored countless single mothers navigating the realities of motherhood, responsibility, relationships, personal growth, education, career, and life transitions.
She understands what it means for women to continually pour into everyone else while quietly becoming depleted themselves. Her work is grounded in the belief that women should not have to remain in survival mode simply because they have learned how to survive.
Dr. King is also the author of Memoirs of a Single Mom and 25 Faith Statements for the Single Mom, reflecting her longstanding commitment to encouraging and empowering women navigating the complexities of single motherhood.
